Meet the cool gang from Willsmore vineyard in Piccadilly Valley, Adelaide Hills—clones 95, 96, and iv10, the trio of awesome. They live on an east-facing slope, about 500 meters up. Their home is sandy loam on sandstone and ironstone, planted in 2004.
These guys go through a rad transformation: whole bunch and gentle oxidative pressing, then they throw a barrel party and ferment right in there. After some serious chill time—9 months of barrel aging on fine lees—they emerge as this textured chardonnay with a fine acid line that's like the glue holding all the cool components together.
They're a limited edition crew—only 1872 bottles of this magic elixir exist.
